Pune .NET user group

INETA (The International .NET Association) is an organization that is responsible for organizing and supporting the growing community of user groups across the world. Today INETA supports over 100,809 members in 327 user groups, spread across different countries with one single focus – to help foster the community spirit and in the process help and educate developers, professionals and IT managers.

As part of its Academic Initiatives, INETA in association with the Pune .NET user group is pleased to announce the launch of the group’s student chapter. The Pune .NET user group has been around since Feb 2003 and today it has over 800 members. Since its inception, the group has conducted numerous workshops and seminars on relevant technology topics and also provided invaluable assistance to its members thru forums, message boards and other resources available exclusively thru INETA.

If you are a student and -

  • You are interested in becoming a member of the Pune .NET user group’s student’s chapter (PUG Student).
  • You are interested in having a seminar/workshop conducted in your college.
  • You need assistance in Microsoft related technologies as part of your academic syllabus or projects.
  • You want books, periodicals and other technical content

Introduction to INETA Academic Activities and its Benefits

The International .NET Association (INETA) provides structured, peer-based organizational, educational, and promotional support to the growing worldwide community of Microsoft .NET user groups. Composed entirely of volunteers, its mission is to offer assistance and resources to community groups that promote and educate their membership in Microsoft’s .NET technologies. INETA welcomes user groups or special interest groups from all facets of the .NET user community including developers, architects, project managers, and IT professionals. We also support students and educators interested in learning .NET technologies.

INETA Academic Activities

The INETA Academic Committee is focused on helping support .NET technologies in academia. We accomplish this by providing support and assistance through our local INETA user groups to students and faculty. We support the creation and on-going growth of student user groups and .NET education in academia. By leveraging the resources of INETA, we provide a connection to local professional .NET developers: for community building, mentoring and technical advice.

What can INETA Academic do for you?

INETA Academic provides:

· Periodic seminars and workshops on relevant technologies, conducted either in your college or at an alternate venue. These events are organized by the local .NET user group which will take the responsibility of providing experienced and qualified speakers and also the content and resources for the same.

· The INETA Speaker bureau – The speaker bureau is a databank of some of the most eminent and best speakers available in India. Being part of an INETA supported User group gives you the chance of coming face to face with some of the most respected gurus in the country.

· Assistance with web site presence for College Computer Clubs with free web site space to promote your group and give students an opportunity to use a pre-built site or build their own web site

· Local technology champions - are you stuck on a .NET problem? Need help on a class project? Thru INETA you can have access to local MVPs (Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professionals) and Community Stars.

· Access to evaluation software’s, starter kits and an e-book specially created for students.

· Mentor groups - through the INETA.org web site, you can find .NET user groups in your area that can help you with presentation topics, NET resources, and mentoring assistance in establishing and running your own INETA Academic user group

· Discounts and schemes from affiliated institutes to students wishing to take up .NET courses. (wherever applicable)

· Access to the local user library for .NET related books (wherever applicable)

· Books, magazines, software, t-shirts and other goodies.
