Indian Express THE Pune rural police arrested nine persons in Bhor on Wednesday including two State government employees and a local politician for their involvement in sexually exploiting women by promising them government jobs. The police are looking for one more person.

The District superintendent of police (Pune rural) Vishwas Nangare Patil said the kingpin of the racket was a grocery shop owner Vasudeo Ramchandra Zagade. He and his associates used to lure the women by promising them government jobs and along with the local politician, Bhor Taluka Panchayat Samiti chairman Navnath Jadhav, and the state government employees — senior clerk from the entertainment branch of Bhor sub-divisional office Pandit Namdeo Shirke and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) employee Vivek Sahebrao Thite — rape them at various lodges, dhabas and bungalows in Bhor and Pune.

Indian Express OMKAR Dilip Kale, the two-and-a-half years old boy who was kidnapped for ransom on Tuesday morning was reunited with his family the next day, thanks to a good samaritan. The boy, the son of a postman at Rahatani, was kidnapped by a Sachin Dharmaraj Jugdar (20), a neighbour, when he had stepped out of his Gajanan Nagar house to play. Jugdar has been arrested.
