Washingtonpost:The crew set to fly aboard space shuttle Discovery scrambled into the spaceship on Thursday for a practice countdown ahead of next month’s launch.

Three years after deadline, water works lie abandoned

IndianExpress:THE second deadline for completion of the Wadgaon water works may be 15 days away, but that does not signal an end to the water woes of residents of Sinhagad Road and Taljai areas. While chances of the work being completed on time appear slim, the contractor allegedly adandoned the construction last month.

BJP leaders Ujjwal Keskar, Anupama Limaye, Bhimrao Tapkir, Balasaheb Suryavanshi, Dilip Sonawane and Vishwas Ahir Patil visited the plant on Monday and highlighted the situation.
The construction of Wadgaon water works was approved by the Pune Municipal Corporation in 1997, as part of the Rs 300-crore water scheme. It was to be completed early in 2002. However, three years after the deadline, work is still pending, although the deadline was pushed to May 31, 2006.
