IndianExpress: The much-hyped Chakan airport has officially been grounded with the Indian Air Force (IAF) clearly stating that it has withdrawn permission for development of the alternative international airport. In a letter referring to a question raised at a Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting in April, IAF said it withdrew the permission in May last year as the flight path of the proposed airport would clash with flights originating from the Air Force-controlled Lohegaon airport.
Despite knowing for one year that IAF will not clear the Chakan project, none of the stakeholders — Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and Airports Authority of India (AAI) — made any realistic efforts to identify a site for developing an alternative greenfield airport.

PCWorld.com: Users looking for a new PC might want to wait for a round of price cuts that are expected soon from Intel, the world’s largest maker of microprocessors.
Component vendors and analysts in Taiwan say the company may announce such reductions in July, and the PC market has already slowed down in anticipation of the move. The microprocessor is one of the most expensive parts inside a PC, so price reductions could have a big impact on the price of an overall system.
Taiwanese companies often know inside information about the PC industry, such as about upcoming chip launches or price reductions, because they make many vital components for PCs and need to know about upcoming technical or business changes in order to prepare new products. Taiwanese companies hold over three quarters of the global market for computer motherboards

CNN.com: MySpace.com is planning new restrictions on how adults may contact its younger users in response to growing concerns about the safety of teenagers who frequent the popular online social networking site.
The site already prohibits kids 13 and under from setting up accounts and displays only partial profiles for those registered as 14 or 15 years old unless the person viewing the profile is already on the teen’s list of friends.
Any user will still be able to get a partial profile of younger users by searching for other attributes, such as display name. The difference is that currently, adults can then request to be added to a youth’s list to view the full profile; that option will disappear for adults registered as 18 and over.

ITWire.com: If there is a computer company more perfectly positioned than Apple is in the marketplace right now, it is probably worth buying. Leaving iPod aside and focussing purely on the new Intel Macintosh platform, Apple seems to hold all the cards, while the Dells, HPs, Acers, Lenovos and others flounder desperately looking for a way to differentiate themselves in a flat market.
Think of it this way. Apple has just released a totally new product range that will not spur on sales from its own ultra-loyal constituency of Mac users but has opened up the possibility - in fact the probablility - of significant sales to an entirely new market many times the size of its own user base.
