IndianExpress: KEEPING in mind the increasing threat of terror strikes at key installations in the country, the city airport will soon get a closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system.
The security upgrade, to be taken up by Airports Authority of India (AAI) in six airports across the nation, will be in place early next year after the current terminal expansion works are completed.

An ongoing study of 800 urban affluent adults in the city has shown that the prevalence of obesity is about 13 per cent (104 adults) while an alarming 60 per cent (480 adults) are overweight!

IndianExpress: Puneites were caught unaware on Wednesday evening as heavy spells of rain lashed the city.
The observatory recorded 10.3 mm rainfall and according to officials in the meterological department, more rainfall is expected over the next few days.
Clouds had gathered in many parts of the city since Tuesday and heavy rainfall was recorded at Kothrud and Sinhagad Road areas

ITWire: An onboard computer-based system from Siemens which automatically recognises speed limits on traffic signs aims to help motorists to avoid speeding tickets.
The system works with a camera in the car that scans the scene in front of the car for traffic signs and forwards the information to an onboard computer. With the help of the cruise control, the system then keeps the car within the speed limit.
