IndianExpress: Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Saturday came down heavily against the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for failing to upgrade the infrastructure in the city. Chidambaram expressed his dissatisfaction over bad roads, polluted river and incomplete flyovers in the city. “Pune is growing fast. Investments would not come here until the infrastructure is improved,” he said.
He said the perception that India was a poor country was wrong although the number of people below poverty line was high. He said India was moving in the right direction and was making progress rapidly.
