Professionals to form political party

TOI : PUNE: About 15 city-based professionals have initiated a move to form a political party named the Professionals Party of India (PPI), which intends to contest the next Lok Sabha general elections.

While the process of registration as political party with the Election Commission is on, the core group of the party is putting in effort to reach out to like-minded professionals in the country.

“The educated middle class professional Indians are on the fringe of the political system — faceless, powerless and vastly outnumbered. To become part of the political process and govern, this class should jump into the fray,” said RV Krishnan, one of the member of the core group and managing director of city-based Business Development Bureau (India) Private Limited.

The core group has six IT professionals, charted accountants, engineers and small businessman. The party’s manifesto is already in place. “A democratic paradigm shift, driven by professional Indians is urgent. The time has come for the 200 million or so professional Indians to roll up their sleeves and dirty their hands.

It’s time to set up a political party, win elections and form a government. This is perhaps the only way the unrelenting morass of ineptitude, incompetence and corruption, our country is sinking into can be arrested,” declares the manifesto. The party has separate manifestos for social, cultural, economic, educational, agricultural and industrial sectors.

“We will put in efforts to make politics better. Out main target group is professionals who are unwilling to get involved the politics,” said Laalit Mehta Krishnakumar Iyer, a core group member and strategic IT consultant.

They claimed that the idea was welcomed by professionals across the nation and registration of the party membership has been started on www.professionalspartyofindia.com.

Before launching the party core group members conducted various surveys in the last five years to…More

It is right time to have presence of PPI in present down graded and crowed Indian political streams. It may be unmanagble if PPI sets National level LS election goal in the first attempt. It will be successfull if responding states like Maharashtra,Gujarath, Andhra and Karnataka are only attended in the first LS election and ensure maximum win to have siizable lot of PPI elected MPs to share the power and get important and required Ministries at centre. This will help PPI to get working experience and design and implement manifestos of priority order in a phased manner. This strategy can be tried for Maharashtra to the extent of required MLAs in forming PPI Govt. in forthcoming Assembly election by declaring names of deserving PPI candidates as CM and all cabinate and state Ministers prior to election. The willingly role and support of all medias is must to reach voters with PPI menifestos to achive the goal.

Dear Sirs: A great idea that has been in my mind since last two decades. Though many of my letters have found place in newspapers, none published mine on this particular idea. Today politics has become synonymous to burglary. Everywhere there is corruption. It is like BSNL and Airtel - the former does not work, while the latter a private sector company that do wonders in the same field. It is the efficient and effective professional management that has earned a name to Birlas and Tatas. In the same manner, I have been dreaming, a sort of governance - management, of our great country, in a purely democratic way with only and one objective of well-being of the people as a whole. Leaving aside a Manmohan Singh or a CD Deshmukh and the rarest ones, we have at the helm of affairs criminals and cinema stars. Will my dream of a change in the political system come true?

    Best of luck.
    Yours
    SK Iyer

What an excellent news for Bharatmata and its large population starving for a neat and clean politics for a long ! The each and every leader of the PPI at different category should follow honorable leaders since 1857 if we expecting to gain a best result. PPI should start to register its membership at the earliest to draw its ideas and expectation to practical. The speed of its growth will be rising if it is starting at the earliest. The thoughts are best ever but they are not implemented.

Let PPI come into everyday talks. Let the newspapers talk about it every week. I am not seeing many people around me know about PPI. They don’t know that such a party is taking shape. I think PPI is lacking in advertising itself.
