According to the police, the group was involved in distributing brown sugar and other drugs in the district. Moreover, some chemicals seized here were being used to increase the weight of the drugs.

“Using chemicals, brown sugar weighing 250 grams can be made to weigh four kg. This group was doing the same. After that, they would make small packets and distribute the brown sugar,” head of the anti narcotic department J.V. Nikam told the media. “Some colours were also found in the room, from where the gang was running their business, presumably being used to create colourful brown sugar.”

The other seized materials include a motorcycle, packets of brown sugar, ‘panni’, chemicals and weighing instruments.
