TOI : PUNE: After the day one fiasco of the online common admission test (CAT) across the country, things are running smoothly in all four centres in the city, though the attendance has not been 100 per cent.
Each centre in the city has registered about 90 per cent attendance every day since the exam started on November 28.
At the Pimpri-Chinchwad College of Engineering, 150 students can take the exam per session. A M Fulambarkar, principal of the college, said, “Our centre registered slightly over 90 per cent attendance. Total 3,000 students are scheduled to take the exam at our centre till December 7.”
Rakeshkumar Jain, principal of D Y Patil college of engineering, said, “There are a few colleges where engineering exams are also being conducted simultaneously. Probably that could be the reason why there is not 100 per cent attendance for CAT.”
At the D Y Patil College, total 228 students can take the exam in two sessions on a single day. On Saturday, 170 students appeared while on Sunday the number was 192 in both sessions.
At the Sinhagad College of Engineering as well, attendance has never been 100 per cent. Atul Padalkar, principal of the college said, “On an average it has been 90 per cent. However, there has been no problem at our end as we have been able to run the exam smoothly on all days.”
